The Timberline is one of my all time favorites. The burnt area is spectacular in fall, when the white trees contrast with the red and gold foliage. Glad to see I’m not the only person that remarks OMG! How beautiful! every 50 feet ;)

Great video! New subscriber here. I’ll be attempting to ruck the 65 + mile OCALA trail in January 2025 in under 24 hours. Starting point is the Rodman ATV trailhead; end point: Palermo Pizza in Paisley.

Section hikes for me. Cant be away from my dog too long. They live such short lives. Life has trade offs and its one i gladly accept.

Ten years since I watched this the first time. You seem to have more geographic awareness than other hikers and ID the places where you are. Thanks for that. Hope you are still hiking a bit.

I love that you do t use a water filter. People give me so much grief for not using one. I’ve yet to get sick and try explaining if you are careful where you collect, it’s not an issue.

North Pole pass is fun. You have about 20 false summits. You think you're almost there, but it keeps going...and going...and going.

That sure is the Uintas. Thunder, lightning and hail. Things are different at such a high elevation.

Best Uinta Highline youtube video I've seen yet. Wondering how you worked out the logistics? Looks like a shuttle was used. Happen to remember the name and the cost? Wanting to do this with 4 others next summer if I can figure out the shuttle situation. We would be flying into SLC too.

Those cumulus clouds aren't even clouds up there, if you go close to them and they disappear, that's more like fog.

I’m not doing inflatable pads anymore. Closed cell foam works for me.

I understand from Tristan (SUVRVing) that he signs in the book at the peak of the mountains he has climbed in Utah. States he's climbed them all. Wondering if you found one at Kings Peak.

Much of my hiking experiences here in the Pacific Northwest have been in dense forests. Really enjoyed seeing the wide open spaces of the Uintas in the video though. Very different feel to it. Also really appreciate the camaraderie, the light-hearted and respectful communications you all shared.

What a bunch of idiots to blaze a trail through such a hideous area... Smart people would have blazed a trail around that mess.... When I get to areas like this, I always go off trail around it, then get back on trail, and I'm the better for it.

Im 50 and with the kids about grown Im in that place in my life that you're speaking of. Ive had the crazy notion I want to do this!! But the other part of me thinks Im crazy, leaving my family and Im terrified of snakes!

I noticed in several areas, especially through rock mazes & rock climbs, there are no WHITE BLAZES... Did you see them and just not film it???.... However, I finally did see the blazes on Mt. Katahdin.---- So at the end, you said you saw hikers on "Knife's Edge", and then you said you're heading back down, but do you mean the same trail you went up??? or the Knife's Edge side down?.... Furthermore, where do people go from here to get a ride to say Bangor, ME or where ever, so they can schedule their transportation home..... Seems to me, the END IS A NIGHTMARE to be stuck in the middle of no where!!!

In 1969 our group of 9 boys and one adult, I was 15 years old, camped at the 2nd lower lake across from Thin Dome that you can see near the end of this video. Spent two nights and had one of the best fishing days of our lives at the middle Rae Lakes. I put some foil around a hook and my home made lure still caught trout. Ate our limit for lunch and caught another limit of 10 trout for dinner. Thanks for this video for the long ago memories.

Thanks for the reminder of the trail I hiked in 1969 as a 15 year old, going from Yosemite to Mt. Whitney.

Hike 900 miles in 40 days..3.2 mph---25 miles a day awesome. Hiking in the mountains of Oregon and Washington is hades.

Punta Arenas is the Capital of Región de Magallanes y Antártica Chilena, probably a town beacause of its few inhabitants but it is considered a city. Skybar restaurant is awful, I agree. Mesita grande is also in Punta Arenas.

A favorite hiking trail of mine…I didn’t realize for some reason that you were south bound until you said grand marais…

Mt. Langley, another 14K+ peak to the south, is also a really great hike!

Cool I had too much fog to see some of this scenery. As well as balds in the south. 1984 was the wettest year on record. Fantastic video. A ladder, that’s new.
